Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain 2018 Suzuki DR-Z400S and DR-Z400SM motorcycles. During assembly the resin that fills the rear brake stop lamp switch may have adhered to the internal contacts, which can prevent the brake lamp from illuminating.

When upshifting between first and second gear, if the rider fails to engage second gear, a neutral condition will exist and may cause very high engine RPM. If the rider then shifts into second gear without disengaging the clutch, the motorcycle?s chain may stretch or break.

RUBBING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT (TIMING BELT COVER) AREA OF ENGINE – 2004-2008 Suzuki Forenza & Reno

SUBJECT: RUBBING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT (TIMING BELT COVER) AREA OF ENGINE
MODEL(S): FORENZA, FORENZA WAGON, RENO (RQ420)
YEAR: 2004~2008
CONDITION: The timing belt cam sprocket may be rubbing the inner surface of the timing belt cover.
CAUSE: The timing cover may be slightly warped causing contact with the cam sprockets.
CORRECTION: Please remove the cover and grind 2 mm of material from the timing cover at the  area where the sprocket has contacted and re-install the cover. Use the attached instructions for inspection and repair.

FRONT AXLE CLICKING NOISE WHEN TURNING AT TEMPS BELOW 15°F – 2007-2008 Suzuki XL7

SUBJECT: FRONT AXLE CLICKING NOISE WHEN TURNING AT TEMPS BELOW 15°F
MODEL(S): XL7 (JC636)

AFFECTED VIN(S): ~2S3DB217586110145  MANUFACTURED BEFORE OCT. 12, 2007
CONDITION: Axle clicking similar to a failing Constant Velocity (C.V.) joint most noticeable when turning and accelerating from a stop with the outside temperature at or below 15°F. Clicking noise will diminish as the C.V. joint warms up from driving.
CAUSE: Axle joint grease.
CORRECTION: DO NOT REPLACE THE AXLE SHAFT OR C.V. JOINTS. New C.V. joint boot with premium grease is available. Follow the service manual procedure found under “Front Wheel Drive Shaft Outer Joint and Boot Replacement” to remove and replace the affected outer C.V. joint grease and boot using the new part number listed below.
